What started off as a one week experiment has been going on for about a month and a half now, and TBH, I do not really feel the need to switch back to a more powerful machine. For the other 50℅ (mostly the implementation), I can do it on any machine as long as I have my Vim config file.

I'm a UI/UX designer by profession, so I mostly use Figma for about 50℅ of my work. I've been doing a personal experiment of sorts to see if a RPi 4 can replace my main work machine.
FLIRC CASE INSTRUCTIONS TV
I only have the Flirc because that Pi is connected to the TV in my bedroom and I didn't want any noise from it at all. TBH, unless you really want/need passive cooling I'd stick with what you have. I am really angry right now and I feel that I've been ripped off. They didn't care if it worked or not as they know how much hassle it is to return something to China. I think they knowingly sent me a unit from the bad batch, as they knew I couldn't then claim a refund for non-delivery. Their website said they had problems with the initial batch and asked for more time but lo and behold, the day after I started the refund process I had a dispatch notice. I'm rather suspicious over the whole thing tbh because I waited over 2 months to receive the DeskPi and indeed I had actually started the refund process on PayPal because it looked like it wasn't ever going to arrive. In short, it was useless and I had to take my Pi 4 out of the case and put it back into its Flirc case. There was an alarming amount of bend in the whole thing once assembled, too. These wouldn't go in all the way because of the aforementioned measurement errors, and it resulted in the HDMI not making proper contact, and giving me an intermittent picture. The worst bits were the fan supports, which left me doubtful that it was making proper contact with the Pi 4's CPU, and the PCB-mounted plugs (AV, HDMI and power). The measurements of everything seemed to be just a tiny bit off, nothing fitted together the way it should. The best thing? The base model is only $20 $5!.ĭo you know a related subreddit?
